What led you to where you are today?

Mainly because of the love of the game, I started working at a pro shop in South Africa where I learned the in’s and out’s of the golf industry, from there, and playing competitive golf at university and on tour you notice how much of an advantage people get through proper club fitting. This has led me further into the club fitting side of the industry where I learned an even more extensive amount of knowledge through highly professional training and testing at Modern Golf.

What is your secret to success?

Having knowledge of a huge variety of aftermarket shafts is a key in helping fit a person into the right product, but also helping explain why exactly that shaft is working the way it is with that particular player. Every player has a unique swing, and  understanding that players swing, we are able to maximize the golfers performance by providing them with the most beneficial product combination. By using precise instruments and the highest grade components and equipment, we are able to take the fitting process to the next level.

What do you predict for the future of the game?

I see a huge technological advancement of the materials used for shafts, they have come such a long way just from a couple years back. There is definitely an increase of graphite iron shafts being used especially on tour, and if it works on tour it will most definitely work for the average players through all flexes. Graphite shafts are becoming to play a lot more like steel shafts, and can see the companies creating shafts that not only have the same launch characteristics and trajectory as steel but will feel more like it as well. In my fitting experiences the latest graphite shafts in irons tend to tighten the dispersion patterns.  After seeing the results people with stop believing that graphite is only for the slower swing speeds and will notice the vast improvements that have been made.
